5 Years and Still Going

It will very soon be 5 years since I started this writing journey in June of 2020, and it sure has gone fast. I started my blog as a way of learning to create a website, developing my non-business writing skills, and expressing myself during the initial Covid shutdown. Along the way I’ve learned a lot about myself (the fun part) and about how the business side of having a website works (the not fun side).

It’s that business part that has kept me from sending notification emails with each post as the host company periodically raises rates and restricts service. Not unique to the company I use, but an increasing trend in business as all the players want a bigger piece of the pie. That’s the reason subscribers are only getting emails twice a month. Thanks to those of you who continue to check out new posts each Monday even without those reminders.

Writing has been therapeutic and energizing for me, as has coming-up with topics to write about. After over 200 posts (phew!) and a couple of interviews, there is still an infinite universe of things to write about. Sometimes it just takes looking at something in a different way to come up with a topic and sometimes a new topic pops up out of nowhere. Those are the most satisfying for me.

It’s been a lot of fun sharing my experiences, thoughts, life lessons, tips on retiring early, and life in retirement. I hope my writing has evolved and improved over the last 5 years as I’ve gained experience and confidence in my style and presentation. Thanks to those of you who have told me how my writing, or a particular post, inspired you to action, just as I’ve been inspired by others. Hearing that I have had a positive impact on someone else’s life is humbling.

Finally, thanks to all of you who follow my weekly musings, and for your feedback on posts.
