VOTE

Tomorrow is election day and this is my call to action for everyone eligible to get out and vote.

With the far right and far left getting further and further from reality, ignoring the will of the majority of the American people, and threatening democracy itself, it’s more important than ever to vote. Fear not, I am not taking sides, just urging everyone to vote. If the 60% of us in the middle make our voices heard, we can send a message. The 20% on the far right and the 20% on the far left are vying for control and it’s up to the rest of us to tell them loud and clear that it’s time to get back to working together for the good of the county: putting country above party.

Both the far right and far left are focused on telling us what we can’t say or do and what we must say or do to fit into their respective, and opposing, agendas. The left employing out of control wokeness and the right spewing pseudo-Christian dogma. While I disagree with both extreme positions, I respect the rights of those people to hold and express their views. This is the biggest difference between those of us in the middle and those on the far sides. They don't respect the rights of anyone with whom they disagree (subtly different and more dangerous than the same behavior aimed at those who disagree with them). They shout them down and try to cancel them out - all while using rhetoric blaming the other far side for the exact behavior they are practicing. Somehow very few people seem to notice the propaganda used by both sides and the similarity to the same tactics used by some of histories darkest dictators.

Please exercise your Constitution-given (sorry far right, it's not God-given) right to vote tomorrow. Keep country above party and cast your vote for the candidates you believe best represent your values. That is what a democratic republic is all about and it is our only hope to preserve it.
