WELCOME SPRING – finally!

The second sign of spring, after the sighting of the first robin, is the opening of Steve’s Garage Bar. And after a long, cold, snowy winter, the garage opened on March 22nd. It was a warm, sunny afternoon perfect for cracking a few beers and hanging out with friends. After the winter we had, it was liberating to be able to enjoy the warmth of the sun while sipping beer and trading wise cracks. We quickly slipped back into the rhythm of banter we had honed through last garage season.

Since the ground was finally dry enough, the disc golf putting green also opened that day. Surprisingly, we both did better than expected on our first throws in several months. I guess all those rounds and practice last season paid off. Now we just need the ground on our local courses to dry out so we can play a full round without sloshing through the low-lying holes.

With the opening of the garage comes the promise of enjoying time outside with friends again after sheltering inside all winter. Yeah, a bunch of us would meet at one of the local watering holes, but it’s not the same as just being able to hang out at Steve’s Garage Bar. I’m looking forward to whiling away many afternoons and evenings there again. Good friends, good beer (whatever you brought) and good times.

Thanks Steve & Kirsten for being gracious hosts!

No big message in this post. Just relief that winter is behind us and joy at being able to get back outside with friends. Enjoy the nice weather!
